What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a Private Chef?

  • A private chef is employed by one individual or family full-time.
  • A personal chef serves more than one client, usually one perday, and provides multiple meals which are custom designed to the clients specifications.

Do you cook in my kitchen?

  • Yes. On our agreed upon cooking date I will bring all the groceries along with my pots and pans and prepare your meals in your own kitchen.

Why do you use local and organic products when available?

  • It's fresher food. Therefore it's tastier and more nutritious. It's great for the local economy and keeps small farms in business. It also reduces pollution.

How should I prepare for a cook date?

  • Kitchen counters need to be cleared except for appliances. All dishes must be washed. Space in the refrigerator is needed to store groceries which should then allow me to fit containers of cooked meals afterwards.

Do I need to be home for the cook date?

  • It's up to you. When we initially book your cook date we will discuss specifics such as house entry, pet arrangements, etc.

How long will you be cooking in our house?

  • It depends on how many meals and what type of meals are being prepared. Most likely between 4–6 hours. I am willing to work with your schedule so we can make arrangements compatible with you.

What kind of containers will be used?

  • Whatever best suits your menu and how you would like to reheat your meals determines the type of containers used.

What if I want you to prepare additional side dishes as well?

  • No problem, however it will entail additional fees.

Do I pay ahead of each cook date?

  • Yes. You may use PayPal or leave a check or cash on the day that I am cooking in your home. Note: there is a $100 deposit to hold your 1st cook date.

Are you insured?

  • Yes, I have full liability insurance specifically designed for personal chefs. I also have a Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection issued by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

How often will I need your services?

  • We will determine how often you will need our services depending on your lifestyle and schedule.
